Design and Display

The case of the laptop is made of solid aluminium that is 1.49 cm thick and weighs only 1.28 kg. The display cover features newest HP logo, that the company uses only for premium devices. The Elitebook is equipped with all necessary ports and connectors:

  • two USB 3.1 Type-A “SuperSpeed” connectors a ThunderBolt 3/USB-C port, a full-size HDMI 1.4 connector, a 3.5mm headset jack and a microSD card slot. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 complete this very generous set of connections. The 13.3-inch full HD IPS screen is simply gorgeous.
  • The brightness of the screen quite is adjustable: the minimum brightness is ideal for working with the computer, even in total darkness, while the maximum brightness allows you to see a clear image when working outdoors.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The keyboard is spacious. It has perfect dimensions. Each key has a perfect size. Typing on this keyboard is a simple pleasure. Your fingers don’t do any heavy work while typing, they move less and rest on the keys more. A big plus is a minimal clattering noise while typing. The matte black keyboard with white backlit illumination is just simply gorgeous. The top row of buttons is dedicated to “working keys” that allow bring up your Outlook calendar, Skype, Mic on/off etc. The touchpad is small but has a luxurious glass surface and two mechanical buttons hidden beneath it.  The touchpad is super sensitive and provides the quick and accurate response.

Specs

The HP EliteBook x360 G2 features a 2.6GHz  Core i5/i7 processor, Intel HD Graphics 620  and 8/16 GB of RAM. It’s great for heavy office multitasking and for photo and video editing. Practically 90% of the working time the laptop does not make any noise, only when playing demanding games you can sometimes hear how the cooling system functions. In this case, the fans even at maximum speed are still super quiet.

The built-in HD webcam does not provide high quality but is more than enough for Skype calls. The sound in the laptop is reproduced by two speakers set up by Bang&Olufsen. They do not wheeze and generally sound nice, but nothing special again.

Tablet Mode and Stylus

The laptop has a fully flexible hinge, which means the screen can tilt all the way back and beyond. In Tent mode and Tablet mode, the device automatically shuts off the touchpad and the actual keyboard. The stylus pen is powered by Wacom technology and comes with four spare nibs and a battery. The stylus is great for taking notes in OneNote, Sticky Notes etc.  

Battery

The specifications of the laptop indicate the maximum possible battery life up to 16 hours. The battery can be quickly recharged from 0% to 50% in just half an hour using a complete 65-watt power adapter. As soon as the battery is half full, the fast charge mode is turned off, and then the process continues in normal mode. The full charge takes two and a half hours.
