Top 5 high-performance & cheap processors – the best-sellers of 2017

When choosing a processor, it’s not about maximum performance but about getting the best performance for the least money. There are many devices from AMD and Intel designed to solve various problems. In this list we have assembled the best processors of 2017, both server-based and for home computers that come at affordable price.

AMD A8-7670K

Key feature: Ideal for laptop users.

Despite the fact that it’s been two years since AMD A8-7670K was released it remains one of the best in the AMD lineup.

It is built using a new 28 nm process technology, and has a power consumption of 95 watts. The processor operates at a high frequency of 3.6 GHz and supports overclocking up to 3.9 GHz. In addition, here you get excellent performance of the integrated Radeon R7 240 GPU graphics subsystem with a clock frequency of 757 MHz and 384 shader cores.

Intel Xeon E5-2670

Key feature: best suited for power seekers.

The processor came out in 2010, and the price has gone down since then. Nevertheless, this is an excellent 8-core processor with a frequency of 2.6 GHz, 16 streams and 20 MB of cache.

Intel Core i3-6100

Key feature: inexpensive but quite powerful processor.

This is a powerful and inexpensive processor with the cheapest chip on the Skylake architecture. There are two versions of it: 6100 and 6100T with a lower frequency.

The use of the technical process of 14 mm makes it possible to achieve 3.7 GHz with a consumption of only 65 watts. Two cores and four streams is quite enough for games and work. There is also support for overclocking.

AMD Sempron 3850

Key feature: the most affordable 4-core chip.

This is one of the cheapest 4-core AMD processors. The cores are created using a 28 nm process technology, and have a lower frequency implying low power consumption.

The integrated AMD Radeon HD 8280 GPU gives better performance than most Baytrail-based circuits. It is a shame that there is only one RAM channel.

Intel Pentium G4400

Key feature: budget Skylake.

This is an excellent budget processor on the Skylake architecture and it’s even cheaper than a slower Celeron!

This chip has 3 MB of L2 cache, a frequency of 3.3 GHz, two cores with two streams on each, and the integrated graphics card with DirectX 12 support and 4K resolution with a frequency of 60 Hz. There is a slower version – the G4400TE, with lower heat production.

In this post we have reviewed the best processors of 2017 that you can buy at more or less affordable price and get excellent performance.
